A comparative look at the top two water ionizers in the world.

By the time we were done comparing these two machines, we almost wanted to change the title of this article. We simply can’t figure why Enagic is considered one of the top machines in the world. If you take a look at the chart below, you will see what we mean.

Before you view the chart, take a look our pre-emptive thoughts.

Pre-emptive thoughts: We wanted to clarify a couple things. First and foremost, we chose the Tyent MMP-7070 and the Enagic SD-501 because they are two of the top selling water ionizers in the world. We thought it would be interesting…Old faithful vs. Cutting edge powerhouse.
Old faithful (Enagic) left a lot to be desired. We also want you to be clear on one thing. Kangen water is nothing more than the trademarked name given to alkaline ionized water by Enagic. You may hear people refer to Enagic water while others call it Kangen water. They are one and the same. Both the Tyent MMP-7070 and the Enagic SD-501 put out great alkaline ionized water. So should you choose Kangen Water or Tyent Water? Read our findings below and then decide for yourself.
In closing, we must tell you that some people get sold on Enagic (Kangen) because of the multi-level marketing business opportunity. We did some research, and it is actually possible to make more money with the program that Tyent USA has put together. The difference is, Tyent USA does not use multi-level marketing, but rather a straight forward turn key sales approach.

Flow Control Type	Automatic	Manual	Manual flow control means that you must adjust the water at the faucet every time you turn on the machine. A machine with electronic flow control is automatically calibrated and ready to use without any manual adjustments. Manual adjustments mean it is almost impossible to get consistent water with each use. Electronically flow control is a next generation feature with huge benefits.
Number of Filters	2	1	A machine with 2 filters will provide filtration that in our opinion is highly superior to a single filter machine. Single filter machines are rare these days, as most people understand the importance of clean water.
Plate Type	Cross Mesh	Solid	Mesh plates are another next generation feature. Mesh plates (especially cross mesh) provide up to 25% more surface area, which can provide better and stronger ionization. Stronger ionization means better PH and ORP values.
Adjustable for hard water?	Yes (55 settings)	No	This is extremely important. If you try to use a machine that is not adjustable and customizable for your type of water, then you may find yourself with hard water issues, and even if you don’t have hard water, it is a known fact that water ionizers will react differently based on your water type. Enagic (Kangen) does not have the ability to adjust for your water type.
Power Type	SMPS	Transformer	The SMPS technology is the same super advanced technology found in today’s high end LCD flat panel televisions. The SMPS is what provides the ability to adjust for you type of water. Transformers get hot and use extreme amounts of power. The SMPS technology will never get hot, it is adjustable for hard water, and best of all it requires a lot less power to create the same results as a transformer.
Self Cleaning?	Yes	Yes	Both machines are self cleaning, however the Enagic machine does require a cleaning cartridge for certain types of cleaning.
Wattage	85-180 Adjustable	Over 200	Wattage is a topic that is being misrepresented in the industry. Consider a 15 watt LED bulb versus and 100 watt incandescent bulb. The 15 watt LED bulb is BRIGHTER and uses 15% of the power consumption. Advances in technology allow the green friendly water ionizer companies to keep their wattage low while producing the same great results. More wattage simply means more electricity wasted.
Business Model	Retail Sales	Multi-Level Marketing	The cost of the Enagic machine is almost double that of the Tyent MMP-7070 and it has about half the features. The reason for the super outrageous price of the Enagic (Kangen) machine is because almost $2000.00 of every sale goes into paying commission to a pyramid type down line. The high cost of the machine is not a representation of quality.
Warranty	5 Years	5 Years	One thing that Enagic and Tyent are comparable on is their warranty. They both offer a bumper to bumper warranty for 5 full years.
Certified as a medical device?	Yes	Yes	Both machines are certified medical devices.
Return Policy	60 Days	3 Days	Enagic is the only product that we have ever seen with a 3 day return policy. Tyent offers a full no questions asked 60 day trial. The 3 day return policy scares us a lot.
Chemicals needed to create certain water?	No	Yes	This is a big deal. Enagic makes claims about their powerful water. What they didn’t tell us is that there is a chemical required to make that type of water. A large bottle of chemical is supplied with the Enagic unit. On the side of the bottle is reads “do not drink”. We are not even kidding. All of the Tyent Water is made naturally without chemicals.
Cost	$1,995.00	$3,980.00	This makes the Tyent MMP-7070 the “no brainer” choice of 2009. Why would anyone pay almost $4000.00 for a machine that is so feature deficient, when they can get a machine for half the price and more than twice the features?

KANGEN WATER OR ANY OTHER ALKALINE WATER LOSES ITS ALKALINITY WITHIN 4 TO 7 DAYS DEPENDING ON HOW IT IS STORED AND HOW MUCH LIGHT THE WATER IS EXPOSED.

I own the Tyent and I too have promoted it as being a better buy than the Enagic, Unfortunately, some people actually believe that because the Enagic is more expensive than the Tyent the Enagic must be better (these are the exact words of someone with which I had the discussion). I have spoken to a number of people who do not understand multi-level marketing and therefore could not take advantage of the information I was sharing. People can also go to www.blindguru.com and purchase a Tyent and possibly even set up a payment plan with them if they cannot afford to pay for the unit at once. Folks, also be aware of the fact that if you purchase the Kagan water by the gallons, depending on how long you store the water it loses it alkaline properties, do not quote me but I believe within two weeks, I honest do not remember. But then again I do not need to remember because I own a Tyent.
